Life at Hervey Bay Presbyterian Church

We are a church that exists to bring glory to God by making him known to the world around us.  We believe that God speaks to us through His word, which has transcended all time and history.  Therefore, here at HBPC we are all about knowing God through his Word.  We do this on an individual level, growing to be more like Jesus, and devoting our whole life to him in prayer and reading.  We also do this corporately as a church, where God’s presence is revealed to us on a whole different level. We want our whole church to hear from God each week and be renewed and encouraged in their faith through regeneration in prayer of confession and assurance, hearing from God in the sermon, and taking Lord’s Supper regularly.

This corporate life leads us to serve each other and the community abroad.  We want all people to know the love of Jesus and have life in him forever.  Therefore, as a church we are very keen to share our Christian life with likeminded people and share His love to the Hervey Bay community who are desperate to receive it.  In this way we seek to make Christ known individually, corporately, and outwardly in our community.

Membership

If you do want to get involved in the life of Hervey Bay Presbyterian Church, we encourage you to continue to worship and fellowship with us each Sunday so that we can get to know each other better.

If you would like to make a permanent commitment to the life of our congregation, approach one of our elders or our pastor for details about becoming a member or an adherent.

To become a communicant member, each believer is required to make a personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Bible

Membership is not just a loose affiliation.  It involves regular attendance at Sunday worship and prayer for the church:  If you would like more information about church membership, why not speak to the pastor or one of the elders, and we will talk about enrolling you in our next membership course which we run twice a year.
