youth and kids

Here at Hervey Bay Presbyterian Church, we think that Kids are pretty special.  In fact we know Jesus also thinks kids are special too.  He says ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.’  Isn’t that precious!

And so not only do we want our kids to come to Jesus, but we want them to grow up knowing who He is, and how much he loves them and we want to them how to live so they might please God.  Deuteronomy 6:6 gives us these instructions: “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”  And so here at HBPC, we partner with parents in bringing our children up in the fear and instruction of the Lord. Each week we run Kids church, during the service.  We know that kids learn differently to adults, and so here at Hervey Bay Pressie, we seek to deliver God’s Word to kids accurately, clearly, and in an engaging manner.

If you’d like more details about our kids’ program, find us on Facebook and send as a message and we’ll be sure to get to you.

Jesus tells us that in our lives we are to make disciples, at home, at church and in all of life.  And so here at HBPC we are committed to seeing our Youth raised up as disciples, being equipped for a life of ministry.  We are a church that believes in encouraging our youth to take hold of their faith for themselves and equipping them in a hostile world.  In the modern age, as young Christian people come up against temptations, hostility and persecution, its vital that they are equipped to live in such a hostile world.

We want our Youth to know and trust in the Lord Jesus.  We want them to find their identity in him rather than the world.  We want them to gaze upon the beauty of the gospel and trust in Christ’s goodness in the face of opposition and know that Jesus is enough. And so every Friday at 5:00pm we hold a Youth Bible Study in the hall.  All secondary age children can attend.  The study goes for about an hour and its followed by some prayer and activities.

If you’re a parent who wants their child to grow in their faith and be equipped to trust Jesus throughout their adult years, then bring your child along on Friday’s at 5pm.
